Godspeed Little Man....

Best song ever! Totally made me cry when I danced to it with Eli. Yes, I am a softie!

DIXIE CHICKS

"Godspeed (Sweet Dreams)"

Dragon tales and the "water is wide"
Pirate's sail and lost boys fly
Fish bite moonbeams every night
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh my love will fly to you each night on angels wings
Godspeed
Sweet dreams

The rocket racer's all tuckered out
Superman's in pajamas on the couch
Goodnight moon, will find the mouse
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh my love will fly to you each night on angels wings
Godspeed
Sweet dreams

God bless mommy and match box cars
God bless dad and thanks for the stars
God hears "Amen," wherever we are
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh my love will fly to you each night on angels wings
Godspeed

Eli is growing out of his newborn clothes!! I knew that this day would come and I am VERY lucky that I was able to have a small baby who was able to wear those ADORABLE outfits for 2.5 months... most mommies get maybe 1 month if they are lucky! I leave you with a few pictures of some of my favorite newborn outfits!

The Monkey Feet Pajamas:
His Striped Pajamas. (I loved these PJ's):Snugglesaurus onesie with matching dino shorts!
Shay and I both LOVED his red and blue Dino outfit!
It says BEEP BEEP. He is so handsome!

I love my boys! I took this picture today when we were doing tummy time. Sprocket was so good with Eli.. He even let him roll over onto his paw and lay there. All the while giving kisses! Today was a good day to be a stay at home mom! 0 comments

8 Crazy Nights!

What can be better then a night spent with my loved ones? Watching one of them experience their very first Hanukkah! As you can see from the picture above, Eli has his doubts on how the night will go... You can see thoughts racing through his deep blue eyes (the Castleman blue eyes that he inherited from his beautiful Momma). 1. " These people play with FIRE!" 2. "Holy Sh*t!, I didn't get them presents!

We lit the menorah, and then spent the next 15 minutes taking pictures of every little present that Eli got. 2 bed time books from Momma and Daddy, new pacifiers from Sprocket (because Dipshit ate one. I am still waiting for the silicone part to make its way through his digestive system), and 2 hanukkah books and a Baby's First Hanukkah Bib from his Bubbie. The rest of this seasons gifts will arrive on December 25th when Eli experiences the chaos and fun of Christmas with my family! So excited!

I leave with some pictures..... because my son is the cutest kid on earth!

And The Fat Lady has Sung!

After 3 months of abstinence, Shay and I have re-consumated our relationship. I seriously considered joining a convent, for fear of doing the actual act after labor. It wasn't bad at all! I can be a woman again!!

Sorry, no picture available... 0 comments

And away we go!

You just have to love anything that keeps an infant's attention longer then 5 seconds!

"Ladies please! There is enough of me to go around!"

The light of my life is 2 months old today. Times sure does fly!

I think its hysterical how serious he is when he takes pictures. As soon as this picture was taken, Stinky Butt made true on his name, and off we went to the changing table. I might add, that as soon as we were on the changing table and Mommy was elbow deep in crap (literally), we were all smiles! I sure do love that goofy toothless grin!

Two Months! I can't get over how big he has gotten, how beautiful he is when he sleeps, how something so small can smell SO BAD at times. I can't believe that he is mine and Shay's. We don't have to return him to anyone (not that we could... I hear that the state frowns on that).

Eli has brought so much love and joy to our lives. 60 days of baby smells. 60 days of dark blue eyes looking back at you, loving you unconditionally. 60 days of 3am feedings. 60 days of walking the living room floor trying to get someone to sleep. 60 days of telling Sprocket to stop making out with the baby.

In the past 60 days, my favorite moments are when I am rocking Eli in the rocking chair after he has eaten. He rests his head on my shoulder and looks around. I pat his back, and kiss the back of his head. In less then 5 minutes, I can feel the weight get heavier on my shoulder. I know in that instant that my child is fast asleep. I take 5 minutes more of rocking, saying "I love you", and rubbing his back. Then I put my sleeping angel in his crib, and quietly walk out of the room. I turn around once to look at his angelic face and feel my heart hurt. Its amazing to love someone this much. 0 comments

"There's no crying in baseball!"

When you have a grumpy baby.....who likes to fight sleep......and their bottle....sometimes you yourself just need a good cry. Eli and I have shared many a tear filled moment (well, he just turns red in the face, and I let the tears flow). Sometimes motherhood is overwhelming and you just need some help.

Eli and I have done alot of growing since he was born. I learned that I can't do a lot of things on my own. I need to step back and say "Yo People! I need a little help over here!" Eli has learned to eat and poop at the same time. What can I say? We all have our priorities.

I decided to do this blog as a way for me to let out some of the overwhelming feelings that I am experiencing through this new adventure called motherhood. I need some outlet, and am just not comfortable posting on the family blog. I needed a place for myself.

I am tired. I am just starting to not feel overwhelmed with this very big undertaking that Shay and I have decided to embark on: Parenthood. I wish that Shay was home more often, and that he got to see Eli a little more frequently. I am sad that by 5:00pm I am ready to hand a screaming Eli (because that is the witching hour when he becomes inconsolable) to Shay and say "Here buddy, you haven't had to hear this for the last hour, its your frickin turn, I am going to take a bubble bath."

I am thankful that Shay does the 3:00am feeding, so I can sleep til atleast 6:30am, but I am sad that we have lost some of the cuddling, the sleeping in, (not that we did much with Sprocket around) and the adult conversation. I love Eli, and I adore what he brings to our lives, I just miss some of the other peices that used to fit so nicely.

Being a mom is hard, and I may bitch and moan sometimes, but that is my right. I love my son and everything that he represents. He is my world and he is the only person that has ever heard my heart beat from the inside, which makes him the most special person on the planet! 0 comments
